· New Bible Study (Jan 7th for six weeks)!

"Freedom from Fear"

It is one of the most universal of human emotions.  It impacts most of our choices and for many, defines their lives.  It may be called by many names: "lack of self-esteem", "insecurity", "stress", "anxiety", "a burden" But the root is one basic common denominator: FEAR!

Now, some fear is reasonable and healthy and has a positive result. When we are physically threatened, fear causes adrenaline to surge so that we are empowered to face the threat.  Then the danger passes, that fear disappears.  However, too often we are plagued by a chronic sense of anxiety that permeates our lives. It calls us by name and says, "You'll never..." " you're always..."... or "why even try"

FEAR urges us to run, escape abandon and run for security which literally clouds our perceptions while keeping us ultimately from becoming all created us to be.  Do we have to spend our lives enslaved by its power or can we find release?  Does the Bible have anything to say about FEAR?  That's what this study is all about.  CAN WE FIND FREEDOM FROM FEAR?

· SAPC Intercessory Prayer Ministry:  Prayer is an imperative for spiritual growth and guidance.  Will you join us for weekly prayer?  We will be led by prayer warriors to the throne of grace every Monday night beginning  November 3rd, from 6:00pm to 7:00pm.

*Please join us for lunch and fellowship after Worship on the second Sunday of every month.  The cost is $6.00 for adults and $3.00 for children.

NETWORK

(Discover your Spiritual gifts, personal style, and God-given passion for serving in the body of Christ).

NETWORK is a new ministry opportunity at Seigle Avenue Presbyterian Church. The goal of NETWORK is to help you discover you gifts for ministry from your authentic center.  EVERYONE in the church would benefit from this class and so the class is open to the entire congregation!!!The church needs you.  Not because it needs people to fill positions within the organization, but because YOU are an important and integral part of the body of Christ. You have a significant contribution to make you have a ministry in the church and a mission in the world. Wouldn’t it be great to know what God has called you to do for the Kingdom? Here is where you will discover your purpose.  The first NETWORK Seminar will begin January 26 and will continue each Monday through March 2, 2009 from 7:30-8:30. Because each class builds on the other we ask that you register for the seminar with the intention of attending every Monday for the 6 weeks.  Please register to come with either Anne Bishop through email abishop@ctc.net or Vera Jolene Greene at seigleintern@bellsouth.net.   Seminars will be offered throughout the year.

Stewardship Season is upon us! The Christian Motivation for Giving: The Bible gives a number of reasons why Christians should give their money, including apostolic command (2 Corinthians 8:7) and the promise of reward (Luke 12:33). But above all else, Christians give because it is a natural response to the gospel of God’s grace. Because God has given us his Son, it is only fitting that we should offer ourselves as sacrifices to him (Romans 12:1), and specifically in part by giving our money (2 Corinthians 8:8-9). We do not give fearfully in order to receive God’s grace, but joyfully because we have already received God’s grace. For this reason, all Christians—not just the wealthy—are called to practice radical gospel generosity.
