Seigle Avenue Preschool CooperativeIn 1986, Seigle Avenue Presbyterian Church had about 60 regular worshippers on any given Sunday. This small but highly committed congregation, with help from Myers Park Presbyterian and the Junior League of Charlotte, opened the doors that year to a new program: the Seigle Avenue Preschool Cooperative. Serving the families of Piedmont Courts and Belmont, the Preschool’s vision has always been:
Part-time
teachers Brent Meyer and Ann Bradley enrolled 20 children that first fall. See
how we’ve grown! Now, 40 children are served by 11 staff: 3 lead
teachers; 3 assistants; 1 cook; 1 (part time) bus driver; 1 Executive
Director; 1 Parent Coordinator; and 1 Family Outreach Coordinator.
Seigle Avenue Preschool is now a 4 star-licensed childcare center
and is working toward National Accreditation.
We are also very fortunate to have a collaborative partnership with
CMS and provide the Bright Beginnings Pre-Kindergarten Program at our
preschool. Our services have grown as well:
Our
program continues to be successful because we are committed to serving our
families, and our families reciprocate this commitment. The church’s
early vision and constant support have helped us create and sustain a
program that ministers to the needs of our neighbors! If
you’d like to do more to support this fine program, contact Judy Carter,
Executive Director, at 704-377-8076. |
