“I know what I'm doing. I have it all planned out--plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I'll listen. When you come looking for me, you'll find me. Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, I'll make sure you won't be disappointed." GOD's Decree. "I'll turn things around .” Jeremiah 29:11-14 |
Neither the identity nor ministry of any church should be defined by its property. Nonetheless, for Seigle Avenue Presbyterian Church (SAPC), our ministry has been significantly shaped by its place or location. Our church’s legacy is one of change guided by the surrounding community.
1941-65: Seigle Avenue Presbyterian Church (SAPC) was founded and grew to provide ministry among the Piedmont Courts community.
1965-83:
During the civil rights era, conflict arose over direction of SAPC’s
ministry. Membership declined to under 50 members. The remaining
membership redefined SAPC’s community ministry.
1984-95: SAPC focused on urban ministry and attracted members committed to this goal. Membership and service grew.
1997: The Hope Building was built to allow for preschool, youth outreach, and other services to the neighborhood expand.
2003: The Charity League Building was purchased to alleviate the crowded Hope Building and expand SAPC’s opportunities for outreach.
Begun
in 2003 as part of the Stewardship season, our Capital Campaign was
established to pay for the newly acquired Charity League Building, conduct
vital sanctuary repairs, and enable the study of long-range sanctuary
options. Our goal was to raise $300,000 ($200,000 from within the church).
To accomplish this, we must pay $65,000 for each of three years to pay for
the Charity League Building.
This year, because we have yet to meet our annual goal, we continue to seek everyone’s participation in this Capital Campaign.
Envision our future as Piedmont Courts’ Hope VI moves forward to change our church neighborhood. What possibilities for our ministry are enabled by your generous support today for the resources of our property tomorrow.
2008: Sanctuary renovated or New sanctuary built.
2050: Future generations give thanks and remember the commitment and faith of our generation.

Did you know that our next payment of $65,000 on the Charity League Building is due December 31st, 2004? Everyone is needed to help fulfill this obligation.
